Senior Client Partner, Assessment and Succession

Miriam Nelson is a Senior Client Partner in Korn Ferry’s New York office where she serves on the leadership team for Assessment and Succession Solutions for North America.

Dr. Nelson partners with Fortune 500 organizations in the creation of targeted solutions for individual contributors through high potential and senior level executive leaders, with a particular expertise in the General Manager role in organizations. She also leads Korn Ferry’s innovations around simulations as a critical assessment tool.

Miriam joined Korn Ferry in 2017, having served as a partner and practice leader for Aon Hewitt’s Leadership Assessment and Development practice in North America. As practice leader, she was responsible for the strategy, growth and thought leadership in leadership assessment and development, including executive succession, team effectiveness, and human capital strategy. She also provided leadership support for Aon Hewitt’s Global Leadership Council, Top Companies for Leaders, and Talent Council.

Throughout her career, Miriam has worked with organizations in succession planning, leadership assessment, leadership development and high potential development.  An executive assessment and development expert, she manages worldwide development teams crafting cutting-edge solutions that are integrated across the entire talent system to ensure the desired business results and impact. Her experience spans a wide variety of industries including consumer, financial services, pharma, insurance, and management consulting.

Miriam is a frequent speaker at conferences in the field of Industrial/Organizational Psychology, in the services industry, and also for financial services talent leaders. She has authored several articles and book chapters on succession, employee resilience, customer centricity, the conduct of call monitoring, and quality assurance practices.

She is certified in on the Korn Ferry’s suite of assessments, the ProSci method of change management, ADEPT-15 assessment, Hogan’s assessments, among other tools.

Miriam holds a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology, a Master of Arts degree in Applied Psychology from Hofstra University, and Bachelors degrees in Business and also Psychology from American University. She is a member of the New York Associate of Applied Psychology (METRO) and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
