Associate Client Partner

Hanako Muto is an Associate Client Partner in Korn Ferry’s Organizational Strategy Practice. Based in Tokyo, she serves as the  APAC-lead for Culture, Change and Communication (C3) practice.

Hanako is passionate in helping clients find effective solutions in change management and cultural transformation. Communication is key to changing culture, and she is committed to providing solutions to optimize corporate communications, both internally and externally.

Her passion also extends to the areas of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, particularly around underrepresentation of women in boards in Japanese corporations. 

She has presented on numerous occasions at Women’s Leadership Forums for the Japanese and APAC audiences.

Prior to Korn Ferry, Hanako has spent 10+ years in investment banking/REIT, and over 20 years in investor relations and corporate communication at Sony Corporation, McKinsey & Co. Japan and Air Liquide Japan. She also has worked with boards and CEO succession, having been the Board Secretariat at Sony Corporation. She has also spent multiple years working on communication around ESG.

Hanako holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Amherst College. She has also taken executive courses at INSEAD.
